Iraqi forces arrest 6 “dangerous” ISIS militants
ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) – Iraqi Intelligence Service arrested six “dangerous” militants of Islamic State (ISIS) in Nineveh Governorate, northern Iraq.
Security media cell said, in a statement, that the Intelligence Service in the governorate arrested six “dangerous” wanted militants, who were subject to arrest warrants under the provisions of Article 4 of the Iraqi Anti-Terrorism Law.
The six militants belong to the so-called the Public Camps Brigade, Yarmouk Division, Ayesr al-Asir Division, That al-Suwayrah Division, and Dabiq Army, which are affiliated with ISIS, as they were receiving financial rewards in return, according to the statement.
Nineveh is one of the hideouts of ISIS militants in the era of its control of vast areas of Iraq. However, its cells continue activities in far areas of the governorate,Saladin, Kirkuk and Diyala.
The media cell said that the six militants had participated in actions against the security services and assaulted civilians.
On July 1, the Iraqi forces announced the arrest of eight suspects belonging to ISIS in three provinces across the country.
