Russian warplanes hit opposition-held areas in Latakia, Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday evening, Russian warplanes renewed their airstrikes on the countryside of Idlib and Latakia in northwest Syria.

Military sources in the Turkish-backed factions of the Syrian National Army (SNA) stated that Russian warplanes targeted with several airstrikes the outskirts of the villages of Sarjah and Bzabur in Jabal al-Zawiya, south of Idlib, in addition to al-Kabina in Jabal al-Akrad north of Latakia.

They added that Russian airstrikes coincided with artillery and rocket shelling by Syrian government forces against residential areas in Jisr al-Shughur city in western Idlib, as well as against the villages of al-Enkawi, Sirmaniyah, and al-Ziyarah in Sahl al-Ghab (al-Ghab Plain), west of Hama.

This afternoon, two civilians were killed in Russian airstrikes on civilian homes in the village of Bsbeit in the western countryside of Jisr al-Shughur.
