KRG PM Masrour Barzani meets Turkey’s Erdogan in Ankara

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) visited the Turkish capital today to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Barzani congratulated the Turkish President on his victory in last month’s elections. The two leaders discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the Middle East, as well as developing bilateral ties between the KRG and Turkey.

Before meeting Erdogan, Barzani also sat down with Turkey’s new Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan. Reportedly, Fidan also attended the closed-door meeting with Erdogan.

The KRG Prime Minister has visited Turkey thrice since his inauguration in 2019.

Three weeks ago, the KRG’s President, and Masrour’s cousin, Nechirvan Barzani, also met Erdogan in Ankara.
