ISIS claims attack on SDF vehicle in southern Hasakah
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed on Tuesday responsibility for an attack on a military vehicle of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town in southern Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
ISIS-linked Amaq News Agency published a statement saying that ISIS militants targeted an SDF vehicle with machine guns in the village of al-Saada, south of Hasakah.
The statement added that the attack killed and injured four SDF members and damaged their vehicle.
A military source from the SDF revealed in a phone call to North Press that the attack took place at the abovementioned location, resulting in the death of a commander from the al-Basira Brigade, affiliated with the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, and the injury of three others who were inside the vehicle.
