US forces arrest ISIS facilitator, 2 assistants in eastern Syria – CENTCOM
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Wednesday that US forces conducted a helicopter raid in eastern Syria on April 8, capturing Hudayfah al Yemeni, a facilitator of the Islamic State (ISIS) attack, and two of his associates.
The CENTCOM tweeted that arresting the ISIS facilitator and his assistants “will disrupt the organization’s ability to plot and carry out operations.”
Joe Buccino, the CENTCOM spokesperson said, “Operations against ISIS are important for the security and stability of the region.”
In addition, he stressed that ISIS still poses a great threat to the region and the world, as the group “retains the capability to conduct operations in Iraq and Syria with a desire to strike beyond the Middle East.”
The CENTCOM said that such kind of operations “reaffirms our commitment to the enduring defeat of ISIS.”
