Iraqi forces kill 3 ISIS militants, arrest 7 others
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Iraqi forces announced on Wednesday the arrest of seven militants of Islamic State (ISIS) in the center of the country and the killing of three others in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
Iraqi News Agency (INA) said, citing Iraqi Federal Intelligence Investigation Agency (FIIA) in Ministry of Interior as saying, in a statement, that the arrest operation took place in Saladin Governorate, central Iraq.
“Their tasks were distributed within those criminal gangs in transporting foodstuffs, setting up fictitious controls, and their participation in the attack on the security forces in the Farhatiya area and the Ishaqi River, and distributing the so-called guarantees to the families of ISIS members,” according to the statement.
In a separate statement, the INA said that the Iraqi security forces “managed to kill three terrorists” of ISIS in the Tarmiya district, north of Baghdad.
On March 13, ISIS claimed responsibility for arresting and killing an officer in the Iraqi Army after investigating him, and posted photos for the killing that took place east of the Iraqi city of Kirkuk.
