Aid sent from KRI’s Sulaymaniyah reaches Aleppo region
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, seven aid convoys arrived in the northern countryside of Aleppo from the Governorate of Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
A local source told North Press, “Seven convoys loaded with relief aid, medical items and basic necessities were sent by people in the Governorate of Sulaymaniyah for people affected by the earthquake.”
The source added the campaign, which was dubbed ‘We Condole With You’, was escorted by the Kurdish Red Crescent and unloaded in the village of Hassajk, northern0 Aleppo.
The Kurdish Red Crescent stated aid would be delivered in the coming days, according to the same source.
The regions of Aleppo and Idlib witnessed major damage to buildings, affecting thousands of lives, during the quake which hit north Syria on February 6. A number of NGOs, local activists and international bodies have sought to provide aid to alleviate the affected locals.
