Bodies of Syrians died in Turkey’s quake continue to flock to Syria
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Over one hundred bodies of Syrians died in Turkey due to the earthquake of Feb. 6 arrived in homeland Syria during the past 24 hours through Bab al-Hawa border crossing north of Idlib, northwest Syria.
At dawn on Feb. 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Syria and Turkey, killing thousands and injuring much more. The earthquake also caused immense destruction of buildings, trapping thousands under the rubble.
Sources from the border crossing told North Press 110 Syrian bodies have arrived from Turkey through the Bab al-Hawa border crossing in the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of the received bodies to 1.210 in the past six days.
The sources added that Turkish authorities hand over the bodies to be handed to their families by the border management on the Syrian side.
The toll of the received bodies of the earthquake victims coming from Turkey is expected to further rise in the coming days.
