Heavy security deployment in Daraa after Syrian solider killed 

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, security forces of the Syrian government were deployed in large numbers to the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Mahatta, south Syria.

A local source told North Press that security personnel of the Syrian government were deployed to the Busra Square in Daraa al-Mahatta. Passersby were patted down, particularly those coming from Daraa al-Balad, al-Mukhayam and Tariq al-Saad. Cars leaving those neighborhoods were probed, too.

Members of the Political Security Branch were employed in al-Kashef neighborhood, in Daraa al-Beled. No arrests were reported.

On Monday, a soldier of the Syrian government forces succumbed to his wounds after a bus was targeted by unknown gunmen in the eastern countryside of Daraa by an IED.

Tirki Abu Mer’i, from the town of Huraira in al-Zabadani in Rif Dimashq, was admitted to the Police Hospital in the Syrian capital Damascus where he lost life. Tirki was serving in the Special Missions Unit of the Interior Ministry.

15 other officers were injured in the same attack.
