Turkey targets posts of government forces in Syria’s Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – Turkish artillery targeted, on Sunday at dawn, posts of Syrian government forces in villages west of the city of Kobani, northeast Aleppo Governorate, with several shells.

A military source told North Press that the Turkish forces fired two tank shells on a post of the government forces in the village of Kor Ali and another shell on the village of Seftak, west of Kobani, targeting a police station of the government forces.

Since November 20, intense and wide spread aerial operation is being carried out by the Turkish forces against north and northeast Syria which has claimed tens of lives and destroyed facilities and infrastructure along the whole border strip from Aleppo northern countryside in the northwest up to Derik (al-Malikiyah) in the northeast.   

The Turkish artillery targeted the border village of Selam with four shells, all of which fell in the vicinity of posts of the government forces, the source added.

No casualties or material damage were recorded.

On Saturday, a soldier of the government forces was injured in a Turkish shelling on the village of Chareqli, 34 km west of Kobani.

Saturday at night, the Turkish forces targeted the villages of Chareqli and Tel Sha’ir with five artillery shells.
