Turkey, SNA shell countryside of Syria’s Hasakah
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and their affiliated armed Syrian opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), shelled on Friday the center of the town of Zirgan (Abu Rasin) and the village of Umm Harmala north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
A military source told North Press, “The Turkish forces targeted the areas with a barrage of artillery shells.”
The source added that the shelling resulted in only material losses.
Recently, Zirgan has been witnessing successive Turkish shelling, leaving human and material losses.
Following the Turkish incursion in October 2019, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US stipulating ceasing all hostilities and the withdrawal of the SDF 32 km away from the Turkish border.
The SDF did withdrew from the border areas according to the agreement, but Turkey continues targeting the area.
