ISIS claims targeting SDF vehicle in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Islamic State Organization (ISIS), through close outlets, claimed on Monday responsibility for targeting a vehicle of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

ISIS-run Amaq news agency said in a statement militants of the organization targeted, with machineguns, an SDF vehicle on the main route nearby the town of al-Tekihi, affiliated with the town of al- Busayrah, 35 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor.

The agency added that the attack caused damages to the vehicle and claimed the lives of three SDF fighters, including a leader, who were inside the vehicle.

On November 12, ISIS claimed responsibility for an attack against a joint military convoy of the SDF and US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in the town of Diban, 50 km east of Deir ez-Zor.

Although the SDF launches intensive security operations in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, the region has recently witnessed an increase in killing incidents carried out against SDF fighters, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal figures and civilians.
