Israeli airstrikes on Syria kill 4 ‘collaborators’ with Hezbollah – SOHR
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Thursday four collaborators with Lebanese Hezbollah, including a Syrian soldier, were killed in the recent Israeli airstrikes on Syria’s capital of Damascus.
The SOHR reported the recent Israeli airstrikes claimed the lives of four collaborators with Lebanese Hezbollah, including a Syrian fighter, and “targeted weapons and ammunition depots and Iranian-backed militia headquarters in the vicinity of Damascus International Airport.”
On October 27, Syrian capital Damascus went under a third Israeli missile attack during a week, causing material damage.
On October 26, two Israeli F-16 warplanes struck targets in Damascus with eight missiles, injuring two soldiers.
On October 24, Israel targeted the vicinity of Damascus, targeting Iranian headquarters, wounding a soldier.
Israel has carried out six airstrikes, including four airstrikes that hit weapons depots and headquarters of Iranian militia and Lebanese Hezbollah in Mazarea’ area west of Damascus International Airport, while the other two airstrikes hit areas southwest of the airport, according to the SOHR.
However, Damascus International Airport had not been targeted and it operates normally, the SOHR added.
Israel has launched 28 airstrikes and ground rocket attacks since the beginning of 2022, targeting several positions in Syria, “destroying nearly 81 targets, including buildings, warehouses, headquarters, centers and vehicles,” according to the source.
It added 62 military personnel were killed and 75 others were injured in the airstrikes.
Earlier on October 24, The Jerusalem Post cited officials in the Israeli Army as saying Israeli attacks destroyed 90% of Iran’s military infrastructure and aborted the Lebanese Hezbollah entrenchment in Syria.
