AANES denies news of ISIS plan to break into prison in Syria’s Raqqa

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Ali Hajo, the Co-chair of the Interior Board of the Autonomous Administration of Northeast Syria (AANES), said on Wednesday, that all what have been circulated regarding a planned attack on Raqqa Central Prison, is untrue.

Media outlets circulated news regarding a revolt being done by prisoners of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), coinciding with leaked information of a possible ISIS attack on Raqqa Central Prison.

According to what the AANES Executive Council published, Hajo said that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) “are rehabilitating, and searching the prison.”

The SDF “also took all precautionary procedures and measures to secure the vicinity of the prison,” he added.

He continued, the SDF “are keeping safety and security, and working day and night so the people of north and east Syria can live in a safe terrorism-free environment.”
