ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) arrested on Wednesday evening three ex-militants of Jaysh al-Islam, a faction of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), during a raid to a farm near the village of Basouta in the countryside of Afrin, north of Aleppo.
A military source told North Press, “A patrol of the HTS’ Security Service raided a farm housing former militants in Jaysh al-Islam. They were arrested before their families and taken to the city of Afrin.”
The source said, “The HTS militants who carried out the raid follow the leader Abu Abdullah al-Iraqi, who is responsible of HTS’ Security Service of Afrin.”
Such arrests take place before the eyes of Turkish forces who has nearby military post, he added.
Despite the recent Turkey-mediated agreements, which stipulates that HTS have to leave Afrin and return to Idlib, the terror-designated organization still control the city and its countryside.
