Aleppo northern countryside under shells of Turkish artillery

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Turkish forces and their affiliated armed Syrian opposition factions shelled outskirts of a town in the northern countryside of Aleppo, leaving material losses in cultivated lands.

North Press quoted a source as saying two shells fell on the outskirts of the town of Tel Rifaat.

The Turkish forces and their affiliated factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), shell towns and villages in Aleppo northern countryside, resulting in casualties and material losses.

On May 23, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced plans to carry out a major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria.

Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.

The town of Tel Rifaat, 35 km north of Aleppo city, has been a shelter for Afrin displaced people since 2018 following the Turkish invasion of Afrin and its countryside which resulted in the displacement of about 300.000 of the original inhabitants.
