ISIS claims targeting of SDF fighter in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) –   Through close outlets, the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) claimed on Sunday responsibility for targeting a fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

ISIS-run Amaq news agency released a statement, in which it said militants of the organization targeted, with machineguns, an SDF fighter, who was on a leave, near his house on the main route in the town of al-Sabha.

As a result of the attack, the SDF lost his life immediately, according to Amaq.

A local source from al-Sabha, 30 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press unidentified armed men, riding motorbike, shot dead the 33-year-old SDF fighter, Adnan al-Moasar.

On Sunday, the ISIS took the responsibility for two attacks carried out against the SDF in Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor governorates.

Yesterday, ISIS claimed responsibility for targeting an SDF headquarters with machineguns and missiles in the village of Tel Daman in the town of al-Busayrah, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor.

Although the SDF launches intensive security operations in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, the region has recently witnessed an increase in killing incidents carried out against SDF members, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal figures and civil residents.

The SDF keeps pursuing ISIS sleeper cells in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside with the aim to maintain security and stability of the region.
