Two former SDF fighters killed in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Two former members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were shot dead on Wednesday by unidentified gunmen in the town of al-Busayrah, east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

A military source told North Press, “Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle targeted with machine guns the two cousins Ayman al-Shawi, 33, and Amer al-Shawi , 25, killing them instantly.”

“Both men were former members of the SDF, but left the SDF for more than a year,” the source added.

Although the SDF launches intensive security operations in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, the region has recently witnessed an increase in killing incidents carried out against SDF members, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal figures and civil residents.

Earlier on Wednesday, another man was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in the town of al-Izba in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
