Turkish border guards brutally assault Syrian families

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Activists on social media circulated on Tuesday a video footage showing some Turkish border guards viciously assaulting Syrian refugee families, including Syrian children and women.

The “Turkey Affairs” twitter page published the video and said, “The Turkish gendarmerie brutally assaults Syrian families on the Turkish-Syrian border.”

The tweet also attached a picture of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the UN General Assembly on September 21, when he claimed protecting Syrian refugees and accused Greece of assaulting and killing them. “Reality is contrary to these statements,” one tweeted.

On October 17, Turkey and Greece traded accusations after 92 migrants were found stripped on their border. The incident sparked condemnation by from the United Nations. “We condemn such cruel and degrading treatment and call for a full investigation into this incident,” the UNHCR said on twitter.
