SNA faction wounds 3 people in city in Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Three people, including a child, were injured on Saturday after the faction of Hamza Division of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) opened fire on neighborhoods in the city of al-Bab, east of Aleppo.

A local source told North Press, “Hamza Division targeted the neighborhoods of al-Bab city with heavy machine guns, injuring a woman, a child and a man who were taken to the city’s hospital.”

A military source in the Hayat Thaeroon for Liberation, an armed alliance containing many SNA factions, told North Press, “Hamza Division targeted neighborhoods in al-Bab from Qabasin town near the city, wounding civilians, some of whom are in critical condition.”

He added that the Ahrar al-Sham faction, which is stationed in the town of Baza’, adjacent to al-Bab, also targeted the city with heavy machine guns.

The source said the shootout took place after Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the SNA’s Third Legion reached an agreement that did not mention the Hamza Division in any of its clauses.

Last Week, clashes erupted in al-Bab city between the Levant Front faction of the Third Legion and the Hamza Division, after two militants of the latter were arrested on charges of killing media activist Muhammad Abdullatif and his pregnant wife on October 10 in the city.

The Levant Front expelled Hamza Division from the city, prompting Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) to intervene in favour of Hamza, and soon after the clashes spread to cover different areas of the region.

The city of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo, has been under the control of the Turkish-backed SNA factions since 2017.
