HTS cancels military parade scheduled to roam Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) canceled on Saturday a military parade supposed to take place in cities in the northern countryside of Aleppo after reaching a settlement a day earlier with the Third Legion faction of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).
A military source told North Press, “HTS prepared this morning a military convoy in the city of Afrin, which included armored vehicles, to do a parade in cities in the countryside of Aleppo.”
The parade was supposed to pass the cities of Azaz, al-Rai, al-Bab, and Jarabulus and then move back to Afrin, the source added.
The source noted that the residents of Azaz blocked the road by burning tires to prevent the convoy from reaching the city, and then to other cities in Aleppo countryside.
Earlier on Friday, Turkish-brokered negotiations were held between HTS and Third Legion at Bab al-Hawa border crossing, north of Aleppo.
Since October 10, the SNA-held areas have been witnessing unrest and internal clashes after Hamza Division faction assassinated an activist and his pregnant wife in the city of al-Bab, east of Aleppo.
