ISIS takes responsibility for targeting SDF vehicle in Syria’s Hasakah

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), through close outlets, claimed responsibility for targeting a military vehicle belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town east of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

ISIS-run Amaq News Agency publicized a statement, in which it said that militants of the organization blew up an SDF military vehicle on Alo route in al-Ya’rubiyah area east of Hasakah.

As a result, a leader and three of his companions were wounded and their car was damaged, meanwhile the attackers returned to their positions, according to Amaq.

Local sources said the targeted leader is son of leader of al-Sanadid Forces, affiliated with SDF.

On October 10, ISIS claimed responsibility for capturing and then killing an SDF fighter in the village of al-Kassar in the town of al-Busayrah, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor.

On September 11, the organization took the responsibility for attacking six SDF fighters in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, killing them immediately.

Since early 2022, ISIS has claimed responsibility for more than 132 operations against SDF in the latter’s areas of control most notably in Deir ez-Zor.

Although the SDF launches intensive security operations, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed an increase in killing incidents carried out against SDF fighters, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal figures and civil residents.
