Blast injures two children in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Two children were seriously injured in an explosion of war remnants in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.

A medical source in University Hospital of Idlib told North Press that two children were seriously injured in an explosion of war remnants in the town of Taftanaz in the northeastern countryside of Idlib.

The source added that the explosion took place when the two children were grazing sheep.

Thousands of live ammunitions are scattered in the countryside of Idlib as a result of military operations, most notably cluster bombs, mines, ammunitions and unexploded rockets. These have become a major threat to the lives of the residents of the densely populated places.

On August 26, a child lost his life and his brother was wounded as a result of an explosion of a bomb left over from the war in an IDP camp close to the town of Haranabush, north of Idlib.
