Unknown attack injures two government soldiers in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Two government soldiers were severely injured on Monday, after unknown gunmen targeted a military post in Gharz area in Daraa Governorate in south Syria.

A local source told North Press that, as a result of targeting one a military post near Gharz prison in the city of Daraa by unknown gunmen, two government soldiers were severely injured.

The two soldiers were taken to Daraa National Hospital.

The gunmen, who were riding a motorbike managed to flee after the attack, the source added.

He pointed out that the Gharz area is located on the road between the city of Daraa and the town of Umm al-Mayathin in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

Gharz is considered as a security zone due to the multiple places where government forces are stationed, most notably, Gharz Central Prison, grain silos, and the Gas Company.

Despite the Russian-brokered settlements, Daraa has been witnessing an increase in killing of civilians, government members and former members of the Syrian opposition, without specifying people behind these killings.
