Two separate IED blasts in Syria’s Daraa wound 6 civilians, 3 soldiers

DARAA, Syria (North Press) Nine people were wounded on Tuesday, including three soldiers of the Syrian government forces, in two separate IED explosions in the western countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

A local source told North Press, “Three soldiers of the government forces were injured when an IED blew up with a recreational vehicle near the town of al-Yadouda in the western countryside of Daraa.”

“A few minutes later, an IED exploded with a bus in the same area, wounding six people, including children, with varying degrees of injuries,” the source said, adding that the bus was carrying the victims from the city of Daraa to the town of Jalin in the western countryside.

After the blasts, “The injured soldiers were taken to Daraa National Hospital to receive proper treatment, while the civilians were transferred to Tafas National Hospital in the western countryside of Daraa.”

In response, the source noted, the government forces sent reinforcements, including 10 military vehicles, and established a temporary checkpoint in the area.

Since the government forces re-captured Daraa in 2018, the governorate has been living in a state of insecurity, with assassinations, arrests and thefts taking place on a daily basis.
