Failed rocket attack targets US base in eastern Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Several rockets targeted on Sunday the US military base in northeastern Syria, known as the Green Village, but failed to hit forces or equipment.
“A rocket attack targeting the Green Village base in northeast Syria failed to strike US or Coalition forces or equipment,” the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in statement.
It added that three 107mm rockets targeted the base.
“A fourth rocket along with rocket tubes was found at the launch point, approximately 5 kilometers away,” the statement read.
In mid-August, rounds of rockets were fired at the Green Village, specifically al-Omar oil field in northeast Syria.
The CENTCOM indicated that the US forces in northeast Syria are investigating the incident.
