Opposition must stop drawn into Turkish plans –Manbij activists

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Activists in the city of Manbij in northern Syria considered on Wednesday that Syrian opposition bet on Turkey is “total loss” and must stop being drawn into Turkish plans.

Ahmad Youssef, a political activist from Manbij, said that Turkey, while seeking its own benefits, proved that it is ready to leave both Syrian opposition and people behind.

He added that Turkey started stabbing the opposition in the back, and its rapprochement with the Syrian government, which committed mascaras against its own people, is a proof of Turkey’s involvement in this blood.

There were invitations urging Turkish-backed opposition factions, not to getting dragged behind it.

Regional and international media reported statements by Turkish officials in which they did not rule out rapprochement with the Syrian government.

The most prominent of which was a statement by Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs about reconciliation between the opposition and the Syrian government.

The Turkish statements sparked widespread resentment, resulting in protests in northern Syria’s areas which are held by Turkey and its affiliated opposition.

Reem Darwish, a political activist from Manbij, said that areas in Syria’s northeast always seek to be united and refuse Syrian-Turkish rapprochement.

She expressed her refusal to the old mentality in which the Syrian government will return.

Adel Khello, a political activist from Manbij, called on Syrian people to stand together in the face of this rapprochement “Because it is a settlement and a sale of the Syrian opposition.”
