HTS, White Helmets prepare false flag operations in Syria’s Idlib – Khmeimim
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian Reconciliation Center at the Khmeimim Air Base in Syria announced that militants of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front), are preparing to launch false flag operations to accuse the Russian Air Force and the Syrian government forces of launching indiscriminate attacks in Idlib.
This came during press briefing on Friday by Oleg Yegorov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Khmeimim Air Base.
“Militants of the HTS and members of the White Helmets planned to target civilian infrastructure and residential areas in the cities of Ariha and Jisr al-Shughur in Idlib,” he said.
Yegorov called on the leaders of the “illegal” armed opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), to refrain from provocations and pursue a peaceful settlement for the conflict.
Russia has long accused the White Helmets, operating in Idlib, of being behind the use of toxic materials in different areas in Syria to accuse the Syrian government of using it.
