Turkey targets Syria’s Hasakah countryside three times in day
Tel TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, Turkey and its affiliated Syrian opposition factions shelled, for the third time, villages north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
A military source in Tel Tamr Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told North Press that Turkish artillery targeted north of Tel tamr with dozens of artillery shells, and extent of damages has not been revealed.
This comes hours after another Turkish shelling of the villages of Umm al-Keif and Dardara in Tel tamr countryside.
As a result, Tel Tamr power transformer station went out of service. This has been the 27th time when the station is harmed due to the Turkish shelling this year, according to Tel Tamr Power Directorate.
Recently, Turkey has increased its escalation on the Syrian north, and contact lines as well, especially after Turkey failed to obtain a green light by Iran and Russia, in Tehran Summit, to invade the region.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.
On July 1, Erdogan said that Ankara’s new military operation in northern Syria could begin at any moment.
“The time has come to clear these lands from the terrorist organizations,” Erdogan threatened during Tehran Summit.
Tehran’s trilateral Summit brought presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey together on July 19 with Syrian issue on the top of its agenda.
