2 members of AANES’ affiliated force injured in Syria’s Hasakah
SHADDADI, Syria (North Press) – Two members of the Self-Defense Forces, which is the conscripted armed force in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), were wounded Thursday in an attack carried out by gunmen, east of Shaddadi, south of Hasakah Governorate.
A security source told North Press that gunmen believed to be sleeper cells of the Islamic State (ISIS) riding a motorcycle targeted, with machine guns, a checkpoint of the Self-Defense Forces located 30 km east of the town of Shaddadi, injuring two members of them.
The injured “were transferred to the Shaddadi Military Hospital, and they are now in good condition,” the source added.
The source said that two days ago unknown people burned one of the oil wells in the area.
On June 22, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted in a street in Shaddadi exploded with a military vehicle affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), without causing any casualties.
