Turkey sends more military reinforcements to Aleppo northern countryside

ALEPPO, Syria (North press) – A Turkish military convoy entered on Wednesday evening areas held by Turkish-backed armed opposition SNA factions in Syria through al-Rai crossing north of Aleppo.

“The Turkish convoy, which included three tanks, a number of Turkish armored vehicles, and mine sweepers, headed towards the city of al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo,” an eyewitness told North Press.

The entry of the convoy was accompanied by an intense flight of Turkish reconnaissance aircraft in the area, according to the same source

“After midnight last night, Turkish military convoys entered the areas of control of the SNA, from the Bab al-Salama and al-Ra’i crossings, north of Aleppo, which included heavy weapons, tanks and armored vehicles,” the source added.

The recent Turkish military moves come in tandem with Turkey’s threats to launch a new military operation in northern Syria.

On June 1, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that they were taking another step in establishing a 30-kilometer security zone along their southern border. “We would clean up Tal Rifaat and Manbij,” he said, referring to two northern Syrian cities.

Meanwhile, the government forces and the pro-Iranian factions sent reinforcements to the city of Tel Rifaat, north Aleppo, setting up the berms and fortifications.
