Joint patrols with SDF aim at building peace, security –coalition

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The US-led Global Coalition to defeat the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) said on Saturday that “combined anti-ISIS patrols” with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are launched to build “regional peace and security” in northeast Syria.

This came in a post on the coalition’s official Facebook account, stressing its commitment “while working together (with the SDF) towards a more stable and prosperous NE Syria free from ISIS influence.”

The SDF and the coalition launch periodic joint patrols in border villages and areas.

The coalition to defeat ISIS always stresses its support to the SDF, in addition to its notable role in catching many escapees of the ISIS members.

The coalition, in cooperation with the SDF, continue to pursue the ISIS sleeper cells after the latter was defeated militarily in its last stronghold in the town of  Baghuz in the city of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, in 2019.
