Turkish shelling on village in Aleppo countryside injures woman
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and their affiliated opposition SNA factions bombed on Tuesday evening the village of Abyan in the Sherawa district in the northern countryside of Aleppo, wounding a woman.
“The 77-year-old woman was hit by shrapnel in her forearms. The shelling also caused material damage to the house of two other civilians’ homes in the village,” a local source told North Press.
The Turkish forces and the SNA bombed the village with two shells, a military source said.
The Turkish forces targeted on Tuesday the outskirts of the village of Harbel and Umm Hosh with three artillery shells. No information was released about the size of the damage the shelling caused.
On Friday, a displaced person from the village of Afraz, in Sharan district, in the countryside of Aleppo, was injured in the Turkish shelling on the village of Umm Qura. The shelling also caused material damage to his home and car.
For more than a month, the Turkish artillery has been intensively bombing the villages and towns north of Aleppo.
Turkey has occupied the city of Afrin and its countryside since March 2018, following a military invasion by the Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions called “Olive Branch”. Since then, the region has gone through killing incidents, trees’ cutting and arrests.
