Turkish forces to establish new post in Syria’s Hama

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces began on Monday preparations for establishing a new military post, three kilometers from Aleppo-Latakia Highway (M4) in Ghab Plain in the west of Hama.

A military source in the National Front for Liberation told North Press that the Turkish forces have been in the process of equipping their sites on a hill in the village of Qarqor in Ghab Plain to establish a new military post in the region.

The National Front for Liberation was formed in 2018 in northwest Syria. It is a part of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).

The source expected that “the Turkish forces will deploy in the region on Tuesday after finishing preparations and fortifying the post with berms and some prefabricated cement blocks.”

The new Turkish military post is three km away from the M4 Highway, which passes through Jisir al-Shugur west of Idlib, according to the source.

Since the Turkish military intervention in Syria, the Turkish forces have established more than 60 military posts in Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, northwest the country.

The Turkish forces sent on Saturday a Turkish military convoy that included more than 25 vehicles loaded with cement blocks and military and logistical equipment, accompanied by armored vehicles through Kafr Losin border crossing into Syrian territory.

The convoy headed to the Turkish posts in Zawiya Mountain, according to eyewitnesses.
