Turkey continues to send reinforcements to Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces sent on Saturday a logistical and military equipment convoy to the de-escalation area in northwest Syria.
A Turkish military convoy that included more than 25 vehicles loaded with cement blocks and military and logistical equipment, accompanied by armored vehicles, entered through the Kafr Losin border crossing into Syrian territory, local sources told North Press.
The convoy headed to the Turkish posts in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, according to the sources.
Press reports say that there are about 13,000 Turkish soldiers, as well as 9,000 Turkish military vehicles, in northwest Syria.
Since the beginning of this year, the Turkish forces have continued to send more military reinforcements to Idlib. This comes in tandem with the military escalation and the exchange of shelling between the armed factions and government forces.
Since its military intervention in Syria, the Turkish forces have established more than 60 military posts in the areas of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, in the northwest of the country.
