Syria’s northwest witnesses mutual shelling between forces of government and opposition

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The mutual shelling between the Turkish-backed opposition factions (SNA) and the government forces continued on Thursday in several areas in northwest Syria.

The government forces shelled the opposition factions’ posts in the towns of Sufuhn, Kansafra, Kafr Oweid, al-Fatira and al-Bara in the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, and the outskirts of the town of Ma’arat al-Naasan, east of Idlib, with heavy artillery and missiles, military sources in the opposition told North Press.

Similarly, the opposition’s posts in the villages and towns of Taqad, Kafr Ta’al, Ajel, Sheikh Suleiman, and the outskirts of the town of Kafr Noran, west of Aleppo, Kabina and Kilis north of Lattakia, and the villages of Sarmania and Dower al-Akrad, west of Hama, were also bombed.

Meanwhile, al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room struck the government forces’ posts near the town of al-Saraf and al-Malak Hill, north of Lattakia, and the village of Malajah south of Idlib,” military sources in the opposition told North Press.

It also targeted the 46th Regiment and the village of Miznaz, west of Aleppo, with heavy artillery and mortar shells, according to the same sources.

According to the sources, the mutual bombing between the two sides coincided with frequent flight of Russian reconnaissance planes and aircraft over the countryside of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, northwest Syria.

Areas in the de-escalation zone in the northwest of Syria continue to witness daily exchange of bombardment between the Turkish-backed opposition factions and the government forces.
