Asayish arrest drugs’ promoters in Syria’s Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) of Raqqa branch announced on Mondaythe arrest of two individuals on charges of promoting drugs in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.
On its official website, the Asayish said, “We arrested two individuals in Raqqa governorate working in drugs’ trading after gathering proofs and documents in the process of following up on the drug issue.”
The Asayish added that they confiscated 6.194 captagon pills the arrestees possessed, and they were referred to public prosecution to take legal action against them.
During 2021, 933 drug files were documented and about 1.562 drug traders, promoters and abusers were arrested and then they were referred to the public prosecution, according to a statistic by the Asayish.
On February 21, the Asayish arrested a group of people who were drug dealers in the city of Tabqa, in the countryside of Raqqa governorate.
