Russian jets pound Turkish-backed SNA in Syria’s Aleppo region

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian warplanes targeted on Saturday positions of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) west of Aleppo, north Syria.

A Syrian opposition military source told North Press that a Russian warplane pounded the SNA positions near frontlines with the government forces in the western countryside of Aleppo with two airstrikes using high-explosive vacuum missiles.

The airstrikes coincided with intensive flight by three Russian warplanes and a reconnaissance drone over the targeted area.

On Friday, about 20 members of the government forces were killed and wounded after some of the SNA factions targeted a military bus on a route near the Base 111 west of Aleppo.

The areas of northwest Syria are constantly witnessing exchange of shelling between the Syrian government forces and the SNA factions, despite being subjected to a ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey in 2020.
