Aleppo northern countryside enduring fierce shelling by Turkish forces

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish forces renewed on Thursday the shelling of a number of villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo causing material losses.

Since early on Monday, the villages of Umm al-Qora and Smouqa have been hit with ten shells. No human losses were reported, local sources said.

An exclusive source told North Press that villages south of Afrin were pounded with scores of shells.

The targeted villages are: Soghanah, Aqiba and Ibbin, according to the source.

Additionally, villages and towns in the northern countryside of Aleppo including Kafr Naya, Kafr Antun, Kashtaar, Shawargha, Deir Jamal, Sheikh Issa and the outskirts of Tel Rifaat were also shelled. 

As a result of the persistent shelling of the aforementioned areas, the source could not offer details about the number of shells that were fired or the extent of harm.

On Wednesday, the Turkish artillery and factions of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) pounded the village of Hasin in Shahba region in the northern countryside of Aleppo with 14 shells.

The shelling set several fruitful trees on fire and compelled residents to flee towards the neighboring villages.

Since early May, the Turkish forces have escalated the shelling of villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo triggering panic and fear among residents in addition to material losses.
