Series of Turkish attacks on cities in Syria’s Aleppo region
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Two Syrian government soldiers were wounded Tuesday by a Turkish drone that targeted a government military post in the vicinity of Tel Rifaat town in Syria’s northern city of Aleppo, a military source told North Press.
On Sunday, Turkish forces and armed factions of the Syrian opposition backed by the Turkish government struck the center of Tel Rifaat with five artillery shells. No casualties were reported.
On Saturday April 23, Turkish forces stationed in Mar’e city and southern Azaz city, northern Syria, launched around 60 shells on several villages in the north countryside of Aleppo.
On Friday April 22, Turkish forces pounded the village of Sheikh Issa and its surrounding area in northern Aleppo with 30 shells, and fired scores of shells in the vicinity of Tel Rifaat. Since early April, Turkish forces and factions of the Syrian opposition (also known as the Syrian National Army/SNA) escalated assaults on multiple cities in northeast Syria such as Tel Tamr, Abu Rasin and Manbij among others.
