Government, opposition exchange shelling in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the de-escalation zone in northwest of Syria witnessed exchange of shelling between the Turkish-backed opposition factions and the government forces.
“The government forces renewed their artillery and missile bombardment of the sites of the opposition factions in the villages and towns of al-Fatira, Kafr Aweid, Sufuhn, Kansafra and al-Ruwaiha in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib,” military sources in the opposition told North Press.
Similarly, the village of Ma’arat al-Naasan and its outskirts, east of Idlib, in addition to the villages of Kafr Noran, Taqad, Ajel and Kafr Ta’al in the western countryside of Aleppo, were bombed by the government forces, the sources added.
Meanwhile, military sources in the National Liberation Front told North Press that “al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room targeted, the positions of government forces in the village of al-Malajah, south of Idlib, with mortar shells. “
For months, areas of northwest Syria have witnessed military escalation and mutual bombardment between the Syrian government forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions.
