Turkish forces continue violating ceasefire agreement in NE Syria

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition factions renewed on Monday evening shelling several villages on the front lines north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

“The villages of Nuwaihat, al-Asadiya and Khirbet al-Sha’ir, north of the town of Zarkan (Abu Rasin), were hit with artillery and mortar shells by the Turkish forces,” a local source told North Press.

“The villages of Tel Tawil and Tawila, west of the town of Tel Tamr, were hit with a barrage of shells launched by the Turkish forces,” a source in the Tel Tamr Military Council told North Press.

The violent Turkish bombing of the aforementioned villages left material damage to the residents’ property, the source added.

Areas near the contact lines in northeast Syria continue to witness ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement which Turkey signed with the Russian and American guarantors in October 2019.
