Political parties in Manbij condemn Turkish atrocities in NE Syria

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Political parties in Manbij issued on Monday a statement condemning the frequent Turkish bombing of northeast Syria in general, and Turkey’s recent bombardment of the city of Kobani and the northern countryside of Manbij in particular.

The statement was read out in the city of Manbij and in the presence of members and representatives of political parties operating in the city of Manbij.

In recent weeks, Turkey and Turkish-backed opposition factions have intensified their shelling of all areas of northeast Syria.

The cities of Kobani and Manbij have been hit with artillery shells by Turkey since early this week.

“Turkey is committing serious violations in all areas of northeast Syria and is seeking to create chaos and insecurity in the region and kill more civilians,” Asia al-Hussein, the head of the organizational office of the Future Syria Party in Manbij, said.

“Turkey uses many means to destabilize the security and stability of northeast Syria, such as detonating explosive devices, targeting civilian cars with drones inside the cities, and indiscriminate bombing with various types of weapons along the border strip,” she added.

Al-Hussein condemned the Turkish incursion and its control over Syrian regions as well as its frequent bombing before the eye of whole world without taking an action or even verbally condemning these atrocities.

Al-Hussein called on the guarantor countries, the US and Russia, to take effective action and curb the Turkish ambitions, which seeks to control all the areas of the border strip between Turkey and Syria and to settle the members of Turkish-backed factions on the pretext of returning refugees to them.
