Government forces’ officer survives killing attempt in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a Syrian government officer in Daraa city survived a killing attempt.
“Lieutenant-Colonel Wardan Bakri, the head of the Recruitment Division of the government forces in Daraa governorate, survived a killing attempt as an explosive device was found under his car before it blew up,” local sources told North Press.
“Explosives experts were unable to dismantle the explosive device and had to detonate it in its place, which led to material damage to the surrounding area,” the sources added.
In a similar incident, the engineering teams of the government forces detonated an explosive device planted by unknown persons in al-Dahiya area in the city of Daraa, after failing to dismantle it.
Since the government forces entered it in July 2018 as part of the reconciliation agreement, Daraa Governorate has been witnessing a state of unrest, amid daily killings and kidnappings.
