Asayish members killed, wounded in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a member of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) was killed and another was wounded in shooting by unidentified armed men north of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
Unidentified armed men, who were riding a motor bike, targeted two members of the Asayish near the entrance to al-Shihabat town in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, a source from the Asayish in the town said.
The attack claimed life of an Asayish member and critically wounded another to be hospitalized to a field hospital.
The wounded Asayish member, according to a doctor operating in the hospital, is sustaining a critical condition.
Despite the intensive security operations launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed an increase in cases of killing of SDF members, Autonomous Administration employees, tribal dignitaries and civilians.
Two days ago, the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), through close outlets, claimed responsibility for an attack hitting two fighters of the SDF in Suwar town in tHe northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
