Two Christian civilians killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen, late yesterday night, shot dead two Christians in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

Both Sami al-Numeir, head of the agricultural association in the town of Kharaba in the eastern countryside of Daraa, and Munir al-Numeir, were shot dead by unknown gunmen in the town, local source told North Press.

The residents found the bodies of the two Christians and informed members of the 8th Brigade of the government forces, to be transferred then to the National Hospital in the city of Busra al-Sham in the eastern countryside of Daraa, the source added.

The two Christian civilians, who hailed from the town of Kharaba, did not join any military formations previously.

The Christian majority town of Kharaba east of Daraa  is located between the two governorates of Daraa and Suwayda in southern Syria, from which Christians were displaced with the start of military operations in Daraa, to be returned to it in May 2020 under Russian auspice.
