Government and opposition members killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) –  Two members of the government forces were killed on Tuesday in Daraa northern and southern countryside, while the eastern countryside witnessed the killing of a former member in the armed opposition factions.

“The 30-year-old soldier, Bashar Hamid Al-Zamil, was killed after having been shot by unidentified gunmen in the city of Inkhil in Daraa northern countryside,” local sources told North Press.

“Al-Zamil was transported to the military hospital in the city of al-Sanamayn in Daraa northern countryside but he died of serious injuries sustained as a result of the shooting,” they added.

 “Al-Zamil was  from the city of Inkhil in Daraa northern countryside and served in the government’s compulsory service,” according to the sources.

A local source told North Press, “Haydar Abdullah al-Salamat was killed after being shot by unidentified gunmen in the city of al-Hirak in Daraa countryside.”

“Al-Salamat was transported to the National Hospital of Izraa city, but died of his injuries,” the source added.

The source also pointed out that “al-Salamat had previously served in the Syrian armed opposition until the summer of 2018, and had not joined any military or security group.”

In the same context, a member of the government forces was killed in Nawa, a city in Daraa western countryside, according to some eyewitnesses.

Witnesses told North Press, “unidentified gunmen riding a motorbike opened direct fire on a member of the government forces near al-Makhfer roundabout in the city center.”

“The member was taken to the National Hospital in Nawa city and died there,” the witnesses added.
