Building concrete wall in Sinjar is massacre to Yezidis: PYD spokesperson

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) –  “Turkish policy through separating Shingal/Sinjar, Iraq, from northeast Syria by building a concrete wall is considered a new massacre committed against the Yezidis, Abdulghani Oso, spokesperson of the Democratic union Party (PYD) said during protests staged in Tel Tamr town, north Hasakah.

On October 9, the Iraqi government announced the building of a concrete wall between Shingal/Sinjar and northeast Syria.

In 2014, the Islamic State (ISIS) assaulted Sinjar/Shingal, where thousands of Yezidi population were killed and displaced.

The concrete wall, which was started to be built in March, is seen by the Yezidi community as a new Faraman (English genocide) disguised under a legal umbrella, news agencies reported.

Today, residents of Tel Tamr took to the streets protesting against the build of a such a wall describing it as an “unjust” decision.

Oso called not to give up and to hold on to the land in order to confront the conspiracies hatched in secret against the Yezidi and the region.

In his speech, Oso pointed to the escalating Turkish assaults on a number of villages of Tel Tamr which caused causalities as well as material damage.

For nearly three months, areas in the north of Hasakah have been hit with Turkish artillery and drones, which caused the destruction of a large number of homes plus casualties.
