Former opposition member killed in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday evening, a former opposition member was deadly shot by unknown gunmen in the town of al-Musaifra in the eastern countryside of Daraa. Another person was injured after being subjected to a killing attempt in the eastern countryside of the governorate.

“Ahmed al-Zou’bi was killed by unknown gunmen in the southern neighborhood of al-Musaifra town,” local sources told North Press.

Al-Zou’bi had joined the opposition factions before reconciling  with the government forces in the summer of 2018, but he did not join any military side after that,” the sources added.

In a similar incident, a person called Yaqoub al-Hariri was subjected to a killing attempt by unidentified on the road between the towns of Busra al-Harir and Nahtah in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

“The killing attempt was unsuccessful, and al-Hariri was transported to the National Hospital in the city of Izraa,” according to the sources.

It is worth noting that Daraa, despite the full control of the government forces and the reconciliation they held with the people there, witnesses a state of security chaos and daily killings.

On Tuesday, seven people were killed in separate incidents in different areas of Daraa.
