Asayish member lost his life in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) lost his life after he was shot by unknown assailants, while being in his car in a town in eastern Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

Khalid al-Shafi, from the town of al-Sabha, 25 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said that “armed men opened fire on the car of Hamdan al-Hamidi (35), an Asayish member, and later set the car on fire while he was inside.”

The gunmen, who were fled on their motorcycle, fled immediately after killing the member of the Asayish.

 Al-Humaidi hails from the town of al-Sabha in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, according to the source.

Despite the intensive security operations of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed the increase in killings of SDF members, Autonomous Administration employees, tribal dignitaries and civilians.

On April 6, two members of the SDF lost their lives and another one was wounded by unknown gunmen in the city of Hajin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
